You might think that these patterns resemble crop circles below was the work of aliens. But actually this is a man-made man named Simon Beck. Simon Beck's 54-year-old managed to make beautiful patterns on the hills of snow and frozen lake in Les Arcs, a ski recreation area in the French Alps.
Size of the circle that made Simon snow is very large, up to the equivalent of six times the size of a rugby field. You might also think that Simon spent a couple of days to complete a pattern, but Simon actually only takes 10 hours.
Plus Simon just use snowshoes only. Simon did this weird habit because of a problem in his feet caused him to not be able to run again, so the only sport that can be done is to set foot in the snow.
When some people look at abstract works, they assume that the work was inspired by Simon crop circle, but actually Simon got his inspiration from a shelf that was left in the sand at the Kyoto temple garden.
Simon has made hundreds of patterns from the first snow making snow pattern in 2004, and his work can be seen on his Facebook page. "It is a natural thing to do", said Simon.
Simon began his work with the first drawing in the book to make sure it will be what shape it will. Then he searched the empty and deserted land of snow so as not to disturb tourists and ruin his work before it was photographed by Simon.
Simon is also looking for a safe haven from the landslide and if you want to make on a frozen lake, the ice is thick enough to be ensured for treading. Simon said that the drafting process was quite tiring, but she enjoyed it.
In 2013, Simon plans to go to Norway after being in Les Arcs for 8 years and will make a pattern of snow there.
