New discoveries in recent years increasingly astonishing. Now, scientists are able to lift objects only with the help of sound.
Appointment objects (levitation) with sound waves actually been known since decades ago. The scientists use a transducer to produce sound waves and a reflector to reflect the waves resulting in transverse waves.

"Transverse waves are waves generated like when you strum the guitar. Strings moving up and down, but there are two points that will always remain," said Daniele Foresti, mechanical engineer at ETH Zurich in Switzerland as well as co-author of the study.
By using a transverse wave, scientists are able to lift a small drop of fluid. Unfortunately, in previous methods simply wave to lift objects that are relatively small. Fluid raised will float separately. Objects can not be moved by this method.

Based on his research, Foresti introduce a new method, published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Foresti and his colleagues designed a miniature transducer that is strong enough to lift heavy objects, but small enough to be packed. The new system is able to lift heavy objects and provide enough control so that the liquid can be mixed without being broken into small droplets.
This method allows humans to manipulate objects that are drifting with no need to touch it. This technique is helpful to make a mixture of ultrapure chemicals without contamination.
The human ear has a limit of tolerance in listening to the sound. Frequency noise that would disturb human hearing is 160 decibels, equivalent to the sound of a jet taking off. But in this experiment, the frequency of the sound used is at 24 kilohertz. This magnitude is slightly above the threshold frequency sound audible to humans in general.
