What makes this airport dangerous is that both ends of the runway are covered by the which end instantly cliff into the sea while one side is being covered with high hills. This creates the possibility that an airplane might overshoot the runway during landing or takeoff and end up in the sea or on the cliffs.

Ice Runway

Ice Runway

The Ice Runway is one of three major airstrips used to transport supplies to the Researchers at Antarctica. There are no paved runways here. All the planes have to land on long stretches of ice and snow. However, Reviews These landing strips are groomed carefully. The only challenge pilots have to face is to land the plane carefully so that the plane does not get stuck in the soft snow.

Stewart Schreckengast who is a professor of aviation technology at Purdue University and a former aviation consultant with MITRE, said that this airport MIGHT be underwater in 50 years or more because of the climate changes and rising sea levels due to global warming.

Gibraltar Airport

Gibraltar Airport

Between Morocco and Spain sits the tiny British territory of Gibraltar. Construction of the airport Dates back to World War II, and it continues to serve as a base for the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force, though commercial flights of land on a daily basis.
Winston Churchill Avenue, Gibraltar's busiest road, cuts directly across the runway. Railroad-style crossing gates hold back cars every time a plane lands or departs. "There's Essentially a mountain on one side of the island and a town on the other," Schreckengast says. "The runway goes from side to side on the island Because it's the only flat space there, so it's the best they can do. It's a fairly safe operation as far as keeping people away," he says, "It just happens to be the best place to land, so sometimes it's a road and sometimes it's a runway. "

Svalbard Airport

Svalbard Airport

Svalbard is a cluster of Norwegian islands sitting in the Arctic Ocean. While there are three airports within the archipelago, two of the which are used mainly to transport miners, Svalbard Airport is open to commercial travel, making it the world's northernmost airport that tourists can book Tickets to.
Engineers used the region's brutally cold climate to Reviews their favor during construction and built the runway on a layer of permafrost. The airport was completed in 1975, but slight seasonal changes the caused sections of the runway to Become uneven, forcing the need to repave the runway on Several occasions. A project was Launched in 1989 Aimed at insulating troublesome sections of the runway from the ground, the which proved are relatively successful. To make room for the runway without affecting vehicular traffic on the A14 motorway and rail traffic, three bridges were constructed over the motorway and the tracks, that allowed the parallel runways to extend to Reviews their full length of 3.6 km. Reviews These bridges are called Taxiways. Reviews These would Aircrafts taxiing on taxiways at the time of takeoff and landing, while vehicles ply on the motorway below.
Taxiway E7 and E8 on the east are used as one way taxis and connect the terminal with the northern runway, while the third taxiway W1 in the west is used in both direction.

Wynyard Airport

But at Gisborne Airport, rail is still actively used and so are its airport used daily between 6:30 am to 8:30 pm. Afterthat, the runway was closed until morning. Railroads cut almost in the middle of the runway and very often trains or aircraft that stopped until one of them passed. This is a very challenging task for the airport authority to manage the traffic route intersecting runway rail operations that have their own schedule of departure and arrival.

The airport is the main link to enter the small area Gisborne and hosted more than 60 domestic flights. More than 150,000 airline passengers through this airport every year.

November 5th, 1960, an expedition team consisting of 11 scientists and doctors stranded in one of the most remote region in Russia. They had a long journey for 36 days at the sea from Russia. At least the new ship will be back for another year.
In the middle of the mission, a Russian doctor, Leonid Rogozov suddenly experienced tremendous abdominal pain. On 29th April 1961 morning, he is shivering behind snows. Stomach pains, nausea, fever and weakness. His condition continued to deteriorate more nights.
The next day, an attempt to bring it to the hospital doctor had failed to be reached due to severe snow storm around the station Novolazarevskaya. Not to mention the distance that must be passed to a hospital for more than 1,600 km.
At that time, only two Rogozov choice. Died because of the risk of complications of appendicitis or survival by undergoing surgery alone. The last attempt was finally done. At 02:00 local time, he asked for help from the driver and meteorology to hold a mirror so he could see the inside of the stomach.
Lying and body leaning forward, Rogozov start operations. Starting with the administration of local anesthesia using a 0.5% solution of novocaine. After that he began to dissect the stomach, make an incision 10-12 cm from the abdominal wall, and open the peritoneum (the space inside the lower abdomen).
After 40 minutes of surgery, she started weak and experiencing vertigo. At one point, he said, his intestines strange noises. According to her, it is enough to make them want to escape. Shortly after resting a few minutes, the operation resumed around 04:00 and the operation was completed.
In his diary, Rogozov recalled how he through operations. "I did not sleep at all. The pain was incredible! It was like a blizzard whipping me and bitten hundred wolves, "he said, as published by DailyMail.
"I am scared. But when I inject novocaine, for some reason I immediately perform automatic operation, and since then I do not remember anything else. Bleeding makes me vertigo, the longer I was weak and feeble. Every 4-5 minutes, I rest for 20-25 seconds, "he said.
After four days of taking antibiotics, the fifth day Rogozov body temperature returned to normal. After a week he was also increasingly recovered. Within two weeks, he was back on duty at the base.

More than one year later, their ship arrived at the port of Leningrad. Antartica expedition left the team on May 29th, 1962. Upon his return from there, Rogozov working and teaching in General Surgery unit First Leningrad Medical Institute to the rest of his life.
Details of this marvelous story written by his son Vladislav and published in the British Medical Journal.

As we all know, the Earth rotates on its axis, so that we experience day and night. Then what would happen if the earth suddenly stopped spinning? Remember, this will not be possible. Earth will only be slowed and slowed and then stopped in a few billion years, so do not worry. And these are the things that will happen if the earth suddenly stopped rotating.

Everything Will Be Launched on Ballistic trails.

The first thing that needs to be taken into account is the momentum of everything on the earth's surface. We are all pressed by gravity and moving through space at a speed of rotation of 1674.4 km/h (at the equator). We did not feel it, because the momentum. Just as we do not feel as they move along an oncoming car on the highway. But we will feel the effects if the car suddenly stopped, or me-brake suddenly. So, if the earth suddenly stopped spinning, everything on the surface of the Earth's equator will suddenly moving with an initial velocity of 1.600 km/hour to the east. The escape velocity of the Earth is about 40.000 km/h, so the speed of the above is not enough to make us fly into space. But this is obviously going to cause some damage terrible because everything flew a ballistic trajectory to the east. Imagine the ocean water in the equatorial suddenly moving to the east at a rate of 1.600 km/h. The same thing is also experienced by the air that would cause a powerful storm that never happened !
Earth's rotation speed decreases if we are far from the equator, toward the poles. So if we were further south or further north of the equator, the initial velocity of motion of our current earth suddenly stopped rotating, will be smaller than 1600 km/h. The more we get closer to the poles of the earth, our initial velocity will be smaller, even if we stand right at the north pole or south pole, we would barely feel it.

The day will last for 365 Days.

The next problem is the day and night will never be the same again. When the Earth rotates on its axis, the Sun back to the same position every 24 hours. But if the Earth stopped spinning, it would take 365 days for the Sun to 'move in the sky' and return to the same position. Not only that, the direction of motion of the sun in the sky is no longer from east to west, but from west to east. Half of the Earth will be roasted light for half a year, while the other hemisphere in darkness. Earth will be very hot on the bright side and a very cold on the dark side. Such an event is obviously going to destroy plants and animals. And at the poles of the earth, only to experience a night for a whole week and then lunch also for a full week, and so on.

Earth will be shaped ball that Almost Perfect.

This is a glimpse may be a small thing compared to other disasters, but the earth would be almost perfect sphere. When the earth is spinning on its axis, completing one revolution approximately every 24 hours. This causes the rotation speed of the Earth around the equator stand out, changing the shape of our planet into an oblate spheroid (flattened balls). If the earth is not rotating, the Earth's gravity will be able to form an almost perfect sphere. This sounded good and harmless, but actually it creates a big problem. Because the earth bulge in the middle, a sea of stalling on the equator as far as 8 km. If the earth transformed into a ball, the world's oceans will pitch redistributed, inundating many regions of the planet with a large volume of water. We will end up with a single continent around the middle of the planet, the oceans surrounding the north pole and a south pole.

Earth No More Italic.

The tilt of the earth is determined by how the planet rotates compared to the sun. Tilt the axis of rotation is defined seasons on earth. But if the earth without rotation, the concept does not make sense anymore. There is still a planet's north pole, where the radiation from the Sun is at its lowest angle, and the equator, a place that receives the most direct sun radiation. But there will be no season.

Earth will not be Protected from Radiation Dangerous to Life.

If the Earth stopped spinning, there will be no magnetic field of the earth, because of the rotation of the earth was rotating molten metal core of the earth and generates a magnetic field. As a result, there will no longer Aurora and the Van Allen radiation belts that protect us from cosmic rays and other high-energy particles, will disappear. Things like this will destroy Life on planet Earth significantly.

A farmer in central Queensland have recorded what looked like a big ball of water that falls from the storm clouds. The phenomenon occurred on January 27, 2015 at 80 kilometers (50 miles) northeast of Rome, or 500 kilometers (311 miles) northwest of Brisbane. This phenomenon is known by meteorologists as Microbursts.
Microburst is a downdraft (wind crashing down) on a small scale and very intense which fell to the ground which causes the differences / deviations strong wind. A microburst downdraft originally developed when started to slide down from the rain clouds. Area taken by it is usually less than 4 kilometers. Microbursts are capable of producing more than 100 mph winds causing significant damage. Span of the occurrence of a microburst is approximately 5-15 minutes.

When it rains or mixed with dry air, it begins to evaporate and this evaporation process cools the air. The cool air down and accelerates as it approaches land. When the cool air before approaching the ground, it will spread in all directions and the wind direction deviation is called a microburst. In humid climates, microburst can also be produced from high rainfall.
Peter Thompson, who recorded microburst phenomenon with his cell phone camera described the event as like a "ball of water falls" and "looks like the bottom of the cloud fall." Said Thompson, "I think of when I first started seeing the ball was formed until he touches the ground , only about two minutes. "
Microbursts speed to throw anything that "bypassed" it really is very dangerous for the flight. During phase explosion on or near the clouds, the wind "curly" as cold air from the microburst moving away from the impact point on the ground. (Also called cushion stage). During the stage bearings, wind curly had continued to move quickly in a horizontal plane butted very threatening. The illustration above can be a little describe the process of microburst.

Microburst is classified as dry or wet microbursts, depending on how much rainfall accompanying microburst when it reaches the ground.
Australian Bureau of Meteorology's website notes that microbursts can also occur without heavy rain, creating a sudden downdraft of air that proved deadly for the pilot. In this case, most of the rain has evaporated before reaching the ground.
Microburst less socialized among our flight operator, so it is rarely heard microburst phenomenon involved in each case of aircraft accident investigation, although he may often coming as it does in other countries. As the results of research in the US, it is known that the microburst is one cause of the crash around the runway.
Thompson's microburst occurred on 27 January, when the temperature in the area has reached 39°C.

Pyla giant sand hill, located 60 kilometers from Bordeaux in the Arcachon Bay, France, and became the highest sand dunes in Europe. Also known as the Great Dune of Pilat, a huge sand dune this - with a width of 500 meters, a length of 3 km and towering to a height of 107 meters above sea level. Because of the beauty and unexpected location, these dunes is a famous tourist destination with more than one million visitors per year.
Interestingly, these sand dunes moving relentlessly toward the mainland, slowly forest cover, houses, roads and even a part of the Atlantic Wall. The rate of movement of dunes is discontinuous, sometimes moving fast (10 meters in a year) and sometimes very slow (less than one meter). Over the last 57 years, these dunes have moved approximately 280 meters. So the annual moving average of about 4.9 meters per year.

Migration of the giant sand dunes weighing 60 million tons have been covered almost twenty private property, and every year on the eastern slope of sand covering 8000 square meters of pine forest in the vicinity. In the Northeast the dunes, there are roads covered by sand dune after sand landslide in 1987, and closed entirely in 1991. A house buried by a sand dune reported in newspapers published by 19 September 1936. In the South East dunes, Bordeaux family has decided to have a villa built in 1928. Two years later, the sand began to invade the house and in 1936, the house has been completely lost buried by sand.

The movement of dunes is caused by the sea breeze. Therefore, on the side facing the sea has a gentle slope is on the reverse side (facing the woods) rough and steep. For visitors who are athletic, climbing the slopes is a real challenge. For another, there are steps that make the climb a little easier. At the top, a spectacular view of the sea coast, extensive pine forests of Les Landes and when the weather is sunny, mountain ranges visible Pyrennees.
